Frequently Asked Questions - Manchester Removals
GET YOUR FREE MANCHESTER REMOVALS Q QUESTION 1. When should I book my removal van? ANSWER : As soon as you have signed contracts you should be looking to complete in 2 - 4 weeks time approximately.Even if you have not been given an exact date for completion/moving house, once you have exchanged contracts you shouldbe looking round for a reliable Manchester removal company to book with. It is always better to get into a Manchester Removal Company's diary early with a provisional date rather than last minute whenvans might not be available and if you have any influence over the dayof your removal then try to avoid Fridays. We at Lo-Cost Moves advise that you book to an estimated date at least a couple of weeks in advance and then keep us informed as you get more definite information about your house removals. If you have to change your date with us we will do our utmost to accommodate your new requirements, giving you preference over later booking customers QUESTION 2. Do I have to pay a deposit? ANSWER: Most Removal Companies in Manchester and surounding areas do ask for a deposit when booking and full payment before day of move. However we at Lo-Cost Moves require no deposits (although 25%.deposits required on long distance moves) QUESTION 3. How and when can I pay for my house removal? ANSWER: We accept the following methods of payment: Cheque payment to be received and cleared before day of move Cash payment on day of move once the removal is completed. Credit card online via PayPal (plus 4%) Direct cash payment into your local Post Office before day of move. QUESTION 4. Does an estimator need to visit? ANSWER: Although lots of Manchester removal companies offer free estimator visits, I'm sure we all realise that nothing in life is free! The time involved in an estimators visit will be costed into the Removal firm 's price somewhere along the line, along with the times for all visits that do not result in a booking. We at Lo-Cost Moves have developed an on-line estimator form which can collect all the information that is needed in order to assess the requirements of your move and hence calculate a realistic price estimate. This enables us to be able to offer you a much more competitive price, though if your move is some-what unusual or definitely needs to be viewed, I would be more that happy to come out and do a survey. QUESTION 5. Can you dismantle furniture and disconnect my washing machine? ANSWER: Although our team are professional removal men, we are quite willing to dis-mantle and dis-connect appliances as long as this is booked with us when the removal is booked. You must realise that we are not qualified/skilled in these tasks and hence any such work will not be covered under our liabilities and is charged at our current hourly rate QUESTION 6. Are my goods insured? ANSWER: Removal companies are no longer authorised to sell insurance policies to their customers so what most of them do now is to offer a limitted liability cover - as do ourselves. Please look at : TERMS & CONDITIONS for a full description. QUESTION 7. Will all my items be placed where I want them in my new property? ANSWER: Of course! That is what you are paying us for though try and ensure that boxes are clearly labelled - a colour code for the diferent rooms is ideal but having some one present who can direct things as they come into your new property is great. QUESTION 8. Do you charge a cancellation fee if I have to postpone or change the time of my move? ANSWER: We do not charge a cancellation fee or penalise in any way if you need to change times or days - just so long as you give us as much notice as possible, though if this change occurs within 24 hours of the move then we can charge 50% of the removal cost or charge waiting time @ £20/man/hour for time delays on the moving day. If you do need to postpone to another day then we will always do our utmost to accomodate your new requirements, giving you preference ove rlater booking customers. QUESTION 9.
